Born in Massachusetts in 1859, Childe Hassam became one of America's most noted Impressionist artists. He completed over 350 etchings and dry points and about 45 lithographs.
After painting trips to the American West in the early 1900s, Hassam developed an interest in printmaking, etching in particular. He quickly acquired a firm command of graphic techniques, which he pursued for the rest of his life.
